Part Ⅰ Writing
Thereis a simple but thought-provoking remark, “If you cannot do great things, dosmall things in a great way.” Apparently, this saying can be naturallyassociated with the significance of our attitude towards little things. Supposeindividuals have no special talents for great jobs but they still intend tosucceed, it is advisable for them to begin with small things.
Incontemporary society, it is a common phenomenon for not everyone to be able toundertake significant tasks. Meanwhile, an increasing number of wise men findit equally meaningful to treat small things in a great way. It is these smallthings that enable people to build up adequate ability, knowledge andexperience. Two typical examples can be given: by helping others in need, LeiFeng makes his life great; by inventing hundreds of small inventions, Edisonmakes his researches great. As a matter of fact, intelligent people in largenumbers have come to realize the importance and meaning of tiny things.
I, asa college student, am convinced that it is of great necessity for youngsters toenhance our quality by treating small work positively. Thus, we should advocateand encourage our friends and classmates to cultivate this awareness. Do bearin mind: in a great way, doing small things leads to great jobs.
Thisproverbmeeting our eyes is quite impressing and enlightening, whichtold us“If you cannot do greatthings, do small things in a great way.”。In such a simple and subtleway the author of the proverb has managed to mirror the major principle: it isof utmost importance in our lives to do small things in a great way
The implied meaning conveyed in the saying above should be taken into account seriously, and it is not difficult to find a typical example to prove this point ofview. For example, Ji Xianlin, a famous master of Chinese culture, an model ofour young generation, attributed his achievement to his quality to do smallthings in a great wayin his autobiography.Another case to prove this point of view is Zhanghaidi , the new president ofChina Disabled Persons Federation. She writes, in his newly published bookHOPE, that beginning from small things is the one ofmost precious human qualities of every achiever. The above examples are but adrop in the sea. Therefore, it can be safely concluded that thisspirit plays an innegligible and irreplaceable role in our lives. Put anotherword, without it, no one can succeed.
As young people, weshould model ourselves onLiuxiang and Zhanghaidi in our work and study and put forward this quality.Onlyin this way can the junior citizens win respect when they grow up; and only inthis way can they be the pillar and mainstay of our nation in the future.
